Overview

Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu trek is recommended for those who seek to explore the Cultural area of Helambu, with close view of beautiful glacier to the top of small peaks, which do not require any climbing gears and experience. This trek also offers an excellent opportunity to cross a little high pass (4600 m) of Gosainkunda as well beautiful views of several lakes and view points.
 
The Langtang Valley is located only 19 miles North of Kathmandu. The Langtang valley is also known as the valley of glaciers. The area is strongly influenced by its proximity to the border of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7246m / 23,730ft), the highest peak in the area. This is a superb introduction to trekking, among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Nepal. And for the climber, Yala Peak (5500m/18,045ft) and Naya Kanga (5846m / 19,180ft) offer a wonderful introduction to mountaineering in the Himalaya. The trek back to Sundarjal up to Hindu holy lakes and pilgrimage site of Gosaikund. This mountain journey ends with a shuttle ride back to your hotel accommodations in Kathmandu.

Itinerary

We will pick you up at Tribhuwan international airport in our private vehicle and drop you at hotel. Overnight at hotel .

Have breakfast and we will go for Kathmandu sightseeing. We will visit monkey temple, bouddhanath , Kathmandu durbar square and have lunch in between Then Walk through Thamel street and Ason and then back to hotel and have dinner.

After morning breakfast we will drive to the north western hills of Kathmandu .We will enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages.Upon reaching Trishuli bazaar we will have lunch and after sometime we will reach to Dhunche.

We will wake up and have breakfast. Then we will start our trek through the trails that follows Bhakru and after we descent down we will reach Syabrubesi.Overnight at Syabrubesi.

On this day we will follow the Langtang Khola River and pass through the dense forests.We will cross several suspension bridge after that we will reach to a tea house.The trail goes up and down but its not that challenging.Overnight at Lama hotel.

From lama hotel the trail climbs through a forest of hemlock ,oaks , maples and rhododendron observing glimpse of Langtang Lirung reaches to Gumanchowk and then climbs to Ghora tabela after which it descends to Thangsyap.The trail further climbs to Langrtang which is the head quarter for Langtang National Park.

This day our trek continues along a dense forests leaving the tree line behind us.From there we will enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens with sacred mounds of rocks carved on them. We will pass yak pastures and largest mani wall.We will start having thin air upon reachin in high altitudes

Following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village we continue retracing the route from Kyangjin to Ghora Tabela. Overnight stay at Ghora Tabela.

From Ghora Tabela we keep on retracing our steps to some part of Syabru Besi, and then move left up a path through the forest to encounter a view of Syabru and the area of terraces of millet. We make a night stay at Syabru or Thulo Syabru.

From Syabru the trail takes a steep climb to Dursagang and then through the forests of hemlock and oak passing an old chorten to the top of the ridge at Foprang Danda and then to Chadan Bari which is at an elevation of 3330m, this placeâ s main attraction is Sing Gompa. This place is commonly known as Sing Gompa than Chadan Bari. Overnight stay at Sing Gompa.

Climbing steeply from Sing Gompa at several points the trail crossing behind the ridges moves in deep forests to Chalang Pati , walk from here will enter us to the protected areas of Gosaikunda. The other point where we trek on the way to Gosainkunda is Laurebina Yak. We continue to ascend to the ridge and then climb to Saraswati Kund and Bhairav Kund continue climbing gently and then drop about 20m to reach to the lake Gosaikunda. Overnight stay at Gosainkunda.

Leaving Gosaikunda the trail moves to Gopte, passing three more small lakes, we reach to Laurebina La, then to Phedi, from where the route drops to a stream and crosses the head of the valley.Overnight at Ghopte.

On this day we will start our trek from Ghopte. We will descend to Dupi Chaur, with all these ups and downs we make a final ascent to Tharepati, a windy ridge, which stands high at an elevation of 3640m. Overnight stay at the local lodge at Tharepati.

After breakfast we will follow the trail along the ridge all the way down to Melamchi.We will cross a large gompha at the southern end of the melamchi village.

We will wake up early and have our breakfast.Then as our daily routine we will follow the trail from Melamchi gaun that undulates the west from where we will reach Gangjwal and overnight at Gangjwal.

We will start our trek from the trail that undulates along the west side of the ridge , passing numerous chortens before dropping down to Kakani .

From there the trail again descends again to the small village of Dubochaur and continues to descendeven more steeply bridge over the Melamchi river to reach Melamchi bazaar for our lunch and then drive to Kathmandu.

This day will be your last day with us.You will get farewll and will be back to your own home country.
